It’ll be NBA vs. NFL inside a boxing ring on Dec. 18.
Former NBA all-star Deron Williams will meet for NFL Pro Bowler Frank Gore on the Dec. 18 Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury fight card, per multiple sources.
The fight, which was first reported as a possibility last week, has been signed, sources say.
Both men will be making their boxing debuts.
The fight will take place at 215 pounds. Four three-minute rounds with ten-ounce gloves. It will open the pay-per-view portion of the card, set to take place at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., and will be sanctioned as a pro bout.
Williams, 37, has been dabbling in martial arts over the past few years. He is also a co-owner of the Fortis MMA gym in Dallas. His final season in the NBA, where he played for 14 years, was in 2017. He was once considered one of the best point guards in the world and is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist.
Gore, 38, played in the NFL for 16 years, was a five-time Pro Bowler and is third all-time in career rushing yards. He retired following the 2020 season.
The event will air live on Showtime PPV in the United States.
