Hi. Hello.
Some random thoughts on a very busy, exciting day …
Why busy and exciting, you ask? Well, my wife and I officially became US citizens today! Yahoo. Truth be told, this was a mixed emotions kinda day. On the one hand, I was emotional because I came to this country 21 years ago, as a kid, with a dream, and had to overcome many visa-related hurdles to get here. So, I was reflective of the journey. But, also, being the anxious/guilty Jew that I am, I felt guilty about “turning my back” on my home country, Canada. I love Canada. I love everything about Canada and being Canadian. And I am still Canadian. I am now a dual citizen. But, I dunno, I just felt funny about it. But that’s me being me, I guess. This is a huge deal, and it had to happen. I wanna vote. I wanna have a US passport. I wanna be legit. This didn’t seem possible two decades ago, so I am really proud that it is now a reality.
You can now call us the Can-Am Connection, k?
And no, I still don’t know how a bill becomes a law.
Kayla Harrison’s deal with PFL is official. It was official yesterday when she was on the show but they wanted to announce it today. No biggie. I’ll take the conversation we has yesterday over a “news” conversation any day. What an inspiration.
And just think, if it was up to her manager, she wouldn’t have done that interview. Ha!
