I would love to hear all of your guys thoughts on if you think a super fight between Pantoja and Merab could possibly be made in the near future, and also how you think a fight like that would play out? Both very talented grapplers with good conditioning that have already fought most of the top competition in their respective divisions. Thanks and much love!
I love pantoja but I will always be firm on this he’s too small for 135 never seen or heard of him struggling or mention how hard making 125 is just don’t think he’d match up well with any 135ers in ufc
They are around the same height, and Merab doesn't seem like a weight bully. I think his BJJ/grappling and threat of submission can help against the next weight up
After seeing GC marvel with joy yesterday at finding out Sgt Slaughter turning on America and joining forces with Saddam Hussein being a legit WWF storyline, can he guess which of these 3 is the fake WWF/E storyline:
- 77 year old Mae Young giving birth to a hand after a relationship with Sexual Chocolate Mark Henry.
- Big Boss Man interrupting the funeral of the Big Show’s father, chaining the casket to the back of his car and dragging it away.
- Vince McMahon going against Donald Trump in a hair vs hair match (loser has their head shaved).
(DON’T READ THIS OUT LOUD HELWANI, as you probably know, none of the 3 are fake, just wanna play with GC a bit)
Ariel, I hate even asking this. What do you make of Elon’s physical gesture at the inauguration.. I’m appalled, people are downplaying it. Am I reading too much into it?
“Physical gesture” is also downplaying what it was, which is a full blown Nazi salute. He did it twice and this administration is clearly aligned with Nazi beliefs.
Did you know that in 2021 Canadian special forces soldier and one of the greatest arm wrestlers in history Devon Larratt lived at the Tristar dorms for a month and was coached by Firas Zahabi for a boxing match he had with Thor (The Mountain from Game of Thrones).
I found this quite fascinating and I think Devon would be a great guest to have on your show to pick his brain about transitioning from arm wrestling to boxing and what it was like to work with Firas.
If we are doing the 'laying Bellator to rest' tour I want to add Michael C. Williams. I'm crushed I'll never again hear 'Bellator MMA Live'. He is my favorite announcer.
On Monday's show at the very start (6-8 mins on spotify) you said "Islam the best lightweight? Maybe". Just want to clarify what you mean by this is it 1. Best lightweight at the moment? Or 2. Best lightweight of all time?. Just wondering because if it's 1 (and you think only maybe Islam is best at 55 right now) you have some serious explaining to do!!!
Ariel- Dariush getting paid but what about what Wonderboy went through a while back when his opponent pulled out? Dana said something like You don't not fight and get paid. Did the UFC change their protocol on this or is Beniel just "one of their guys"? Thanks. Go Bills....and Commanders
Ariel, I’m having a hard time making sense of Dana’s stance that Arman won’t get the next title shot at 155. I know that the UFC has punished fighters like this in the past, but in those cases there were other strong title challenger options. There aren’t in this case, especially with the next best contender, Oliveira, having recent losses to both Arman and Islam. Is it possible that the UFC doesn’t think that the Arman injury was legitimate? Is it possible they believe the weight cut wasn’t going well and he used the “injury” as an excuse to avoid the scale?
I know this is way late so no worries if you don't get to it.
I'm a first year graduate student at Duke studying New Testament and Early Christianity, as well as Second Temple Judaism. In undergrad I studied Classics (mostly Greek and Latin), but I've had a blast beginning to study Hebrew. One thing that's mindblowing is trying to imagine recitation in synagogue before the Masoretic vowel system. Was it just vibes? How did they know how to pronounce the text, was it just from memory?
I know you have read questions in Hebrew before, so I'm curious to hear about your education in the language. Do you still read any now? Thanks!
The fact that the Hebrew language when written does not have the 'dots and lines' or 'pronunciation instructions' accompanied with the letters is the 'number one bullshit' for anyone learning the language.
But if you think about it, every language is impossible to pronounce just from reading. Why is leopard pronounced "lepord"? Colonel is pronounce "kernel"?
people knew how to pronounce the words because they knew the language. Normally you would hear a word way before learning to spell it.
As you learn words you will find patterns, but it is very difficult to learn a language, as I'm seeing for myself trying to learn French. bonne chance! or בהצלחה!
Though it's been tough, it's been an enriching experience. As Greek and Latin are declension-based languages, they feel mathematic in a certain sense. My impression of Hebrew is that it is wonderfully poetic.
Ariel and the boys in seems to me like there is a fight that makes sense to me but nobody is talking about. Moicano stepped up took the fight on short notice. in the past the UFC have rewarded that. Arman (who I think should just be given the next title shot) pulled out and looks like they want him to climb the ladder. why not reward Moicano by giving him a fight with Arman?
I'm sure Moicano would love a fight against such a high ranked fighter. And Arman would probably view it as easy money.
If Arman has to fight someone, I’d like to see him fight Poirier. This would let DP have one last crack at Islam if he gets by Arman, since DP vs Islam was such a great fight.
I'd rather see him fight Paddy too, was just an alternative possibility that i dont see anyone talking about.
Porier vs Arman would be great, although I doubt the UFC gives him another title shot already but I'd be stoked if they did. When it comes down to it Islam vs Arman is just the fight to make still it's to bad we don't get to see this next.
Ariel On Scale of 1 to 10 how scared are you about this Chiefs game in comparison to taking on either of the other teams you might meet in the Superbowl? A ratings for all three teams please.
what's up guys love the show been watching since the beginning.
personally when I watch the show there is a few fighters that are must watch interviews every time they're on.
i know Ariel doesn't like to play favorites and probably wont answer who he like to interview the nost. so for the boys in the back, what are your personal favorite fighters you look forward to seeing on the show?
Hey Ariel, how funny was it watching Conor mcgregor post with the Paul’s while Dillon Danis was posting on his stories like a middle schooler who just got broken up with

Wow! unbelievably great Q. I would love an article about batshit storylines like this.

Famous pro wrestler DJT writing scripts for Elon.
Hello Ariel, let me get to the point and say you are failing us as a reporter.
The biggest story in MMA news is not being talked about, so spill the beans or your not getting number 15.
Anthony Smith has not appeared on the BYM pod while Felder is there for two months although they won't announce him as a co-star.
Chiesa's pod with Felder seems to have been thrown to the side, while Smith started his own.
Is there drama we are not aware of between the voices of the UFC?
Who is sleeping with whom and who is not doing there research? thanks.
This might be too hot to handle. I think recently Ariel is on his best behavior and staying away from feuds.
Sup Ariel,

Thanks for all you do.
Just got to say Thor vs. Eddie Hall was spectacular. and Devon has no chance, can't even fully extend his arm.
Hey Ariel! Just wondering if you could have Scott Coker on?
I would be interested in hearing from him without the promoter filter.
Thanks guys!

Wonderboy had an opponent (albeit over weight) & chose not to fight. Beneil did not have an opponent.

Dana is big on sending messages of what he expects. I doubt he has anything personal against Arman, he just can't allow him to set a precedent.
IMO a terrible decision, because then we get cases like Aljo vs. TJ.

Hello Ariel and crew,
My question what are your thoughts mcgregor and Paul brothers together on the same bus for the inauguration?
Rich fascists stick together
