Sup Ariel,

No question this week, rather I wanted to share a really interesting fact about the universe.

A clock in an average sized galaxy like The Milky Way will tick into the future 35% slower than the same exact clock in void space (the space between galaxies). This phenomenon is known as gravitational time dilation which Einstein's theory or relativity tells us. While gravity induced time dilation can most profoundly be seen in and around black holes, the effect that stars and planets themselves have on time can be significantly measured on a galactic scale. Time is not a constant. Time is fundamentally built into the fabric of the universe and changes based on gravity.

Hey Ariel & Co! A battery of questions for all you gents!

Ariel- What do you think of this foil hat theory? Jason Hertzog determined the course of Henry’s demise- he (ie UFC ie Dana) made Henry finish the round knowing it would go to scorecards and he would lose?

GC- Landlord update?!

NY Jackman- How do you feel about Commander decks and play style?

Frank- Have you ever been to a Deftones concert?

Thanks you guys for all you do. - ❤️ Cali love

I think him saying “I need to go the scorecards- we’re gonna start this round” is super weird, with a doctor right next to him and Henry saying over and over he can’t see.

Ariel, UFC 315 in Montreal is scheduled for Mother’s Day weekend. I live outside Toronto and would have made the trip, as I’m a big fan. I’ve been to over two dozen UFC events before. But it’s obviously tough timing for a guys road trip as I have a wife and two kids. I’ve heard you say that you’ve never missed a birthday to cover an event. Does Mother’s Day count in that? What should I do? My wife wouldn’t stand in the way of me going, but just because I could, doesn’t mean I should.

PS I can already hear Ric complaining about Mother’s Day being a made up day.

Montreal to Toronto is easily a 6 hour drive depending on traffic

Mother's Day is on the Sunday, since when did it become a whole weekend?! Easy solution, do UFC Saturday night, stay over in Montreal then celebrate Mother's day on Sunday.

Shalom Ariel,

As a fan of the uncrowned channel, I've noticed the viewing numbers for the Boys in the Back going up considerably lately. What would be your reaction if their show ever got bigger than the AH show?

Thanks and love all the content,

Ariel,

Is there ever going to be an update or resolution with the James Krause situation? There has literally been crickets since the original news story. Very curious!

Thanks

Hola Ariel! I haven’t been able to watch the shows this week, apologies if this was already discussed, but any thoughts on The Rock wanting Cody’s soul? Also, Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn this weekend in Toronto should be insane.

That was a long weird segment with the Rock.

Hello Ariel! Long time listener, first time caller.

I was having a discussion at work about some very important topics and I’d like you and boys thoughts.

What would your walk out song be?

Important context, in this situation you are in the main event, you get the lights out treatment and being able to start your walk from the back. You are the challenger against a dominant champion, he’s had 5 title defences. Lastly, the fight is taking place in your hometown, the crowd is completely behind you.

Keep up the great content!

Sent with love,

Luke

Say his name and he appears, I believe in Ariel Helwani!

Hello Ariel and crew, after tonight’s eggciting press conference where everybody was scrambling following the egg slap.

I was wondering if you had the time to give yourself the old Barry H for planting the seed with Eddie Hern in making his press conferences cracking viewing as tonight’s display has increased the eyeballs on the fight tenfold I think.

What I find also devious too is that Chris Eubank Junior held onto that egg for the entire length of the press conference until the face off. That’s dedication. Hopefully Benn doesn’t get too shell shocked by the whole Incidnet and we can look forward to a cracker of a fight in the near future.

BITB Idea. P4P press conferences?

Hey Ariel,

The other week after UFC 312 you and the guys were talking through what’s next for Strickland and how popular he would be if he just let his hands go a bit more. I know it isn’t apples to apples but with how popular his personality is, I think he could be somewhat of the next Nate Diaz for the UFC. What do you think about that comparison?

Thanks

Hey AH,

Hope you don’t mind me putting you on the spot here but I have to ask... were you not cringing at Ade Oladipo’s performance on Saturday night? Watching him around Turki Al-Sheikh is always downright embarrassing. The guy turns into a boot-licking hype man every time he is covering a Saudi card.

If Uncrowned sent a journalist like Ben Fowlkes to cover the UFC and he started acting like Dana White was the second coming of Christ, I imagine you’d be having a very direct conversation with him. So be honest does Ade’s shameless bootlicking make you wince?

Hey Ariel,

There has been a lot of discussion around point deductions from fouls in MMA recently. I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents and see how you feel about this part. I don’t think all fouls should be treated the same. I don’t think low blows are on the same level as a lot of the other ones. If one fighter throws a legal kick (at the time that they throw it) it could end up being illegal based on how their opponent moves. This shouldn’t immediately result in a point deduction.

It’s not the same as an eye poke where the person who’s committing the foul is extending their fingers or grabbing the cage for example. Those are all within their own control. As Chandler said in the interview yesterday, you can train to not grab the fence or to fight with your fist closed, you can’t really train to predict how your opponent will move when you throw a kick. If the idea that a point should be taken on the first foul continues to get pushed, low blows need to be their own category (or at least examined more) because the fighter committing the foul might’ve not done anything wrong.

I believe a groin strike is more similar to a shot to the back of the head. When a fighter is grounded or stationary, strikes to the back of the head are obviously not allowed, but if one fighter throws a spinning attack and the other fighter hits them in the back of the head while they're spinning, the fighter isn't punished.

Sup Ariel,

Question for Ric, on a scale of Danis vs KSI to Eubank vs Benn, how excited are you for Sam Alvey vs Tyrone Spong for the Karate Combat heavyweight champion of the world?

hey Ariel you guys did a segment were you did like a breakdown of an old interview you did and I really enjoyed and you said you might do more of them. I had a suggestion for the next one, to me this was "the good ole days". I was a huge Machida fan and there was an infamous interview you did with Lyoto's dad that would be funny for that segment. I think you know the "#one" I'm talking about.

And yes I've been watching your content for that long. From the interviews to the beginning of the mma hour, the mma beat, the walk and talks, DC and Helwani, the return of the MMA hour and now the uncrowned era. Love seeing you at the top still.

Howdy Ariel and Crew!

With the ever expanding Uncrowned brand taking off within the past 6 months, have you considered the possibility of opening up direct coverage for the local and regional events? Even if it were just a section of fan submissions on the Uncrowned website, I feel as though it could add to the sport as a whole by introducing us to our next favorite athletes earlier in their careers.

A wise man once said (paraphrasing, but it was you who has said this), it's the stories about the athletes and personalities within the sport that makes MMA so compelling and one of a kind. As an avid viewer and attender of local MMA, I would love nothing more than to hear about the journey of the future stars of the sport and would be willing to undertake covering local events at my own expense in Arizona if this were to become a possibility. The athletes give so much of themselves and their health to us for our entertainment. Simply put, I want to shine as much light on the fighters as they deserve from the beginning of their careers until the end

Thanks for everything you guys do for the sport and the fans.

Peace and Love, Thumbs up to the chat,

Trin
