The Dustin interview was one of the best in person interviews I’ve ever listened to on your show. I rarely fanboy out but him and Poatan are on another level right now. The Plinio interview was awesome too.
Dustin dropped a list of fighters that he said 100% that one them will be his next fight.
Nate, volk, gaethje, Oliveira, Colby being a few of them. What do you see as the most likely/realistic to happen this year? There are some rumors of him vs Volk in Abu Dhabi.
The in-studio guests often comment on how the trip into the studio was not what they were expecting and that it was much nicer than they anticipated. Any chance you could get one of the staff to film the trip from the street to the studio so we can see what the guests see when they visit? Thanks for the great weekly content!
Nah, they normally comment on how nice the building and studio is as well as the amount of staff that are working within the studio. I doubt it'd be a safety issue but Ariel could answer that best.
My question is with the rise in popularity and rankings of fighters from the Caucasus Region and Central Asia (ex. Tsarukyan - Armenia; Merab, Ilia, and Dolidze - Georgia; Shevchenko - Kyrgyzstan; and Shavkat - Kazakhstan), do you think we could see the UFC potentially bringing a UFC Fight Night or even PPV event to any of these countries? What do you think would be the ideal scenario for a main event held in these regions? Also, what possible issues whether logistical, political, or otherwise do you think could possibly prevent this? Thank you very much for all that you guys do!
Hi guys! is the Waaaaatch Partyyyyy gonna watch the Iron Turtle's long awaited return to the UFC and the continuation of his amazing wining streak? (last fight was a robbery).
Plus, is Ariel going to talk to Jun Yong Park so I can be HAPPY THANKYOUUUU!
Hello Ariel, was wondering if you could talk about Dana’s comments of only 10 sphere fights, do we know why that would be? I feel like a light Ppv is at least 12, and with 5 of those fights already being out I feel like this sphere card could turn out being a let down, just wanted to hear your thoughts on this
Good question. I feel like, there may be some risk/reward management in this decision. My guess.... (Not that you're asking me)
A) They don't want to overstack a card like they did UFC 300 and then leave the ensuing weeks without available fighters... Limiting the sphere to 10 fights helps.
B) Slow the pace down between fights to address any potential technical errors with the broadcast at the sphere. If they have less fights, they can buy time to work out kinks if needed between fights.
Hello Ariel and Team! This question goes out to the Mysterious One!
The uptick in fighter sound clips has been fantastic. The Francis one is especially hilarious to me. I gotta think that there are ongoing bets in the back on whether Frank can break you while you’re lighting up the microphone (and how many times). I’m curious to Frank’s process. How does Frank find and select these? Any help from the gang? Has a fighter ever reached out and asked you “what the f**k is that?” Additionally, the variety keeps the sound bytes fresh, but does Frank ever get concerned about over doing it?
Y’all make my days better. Thanks for everything you do and shout out to the team pulling the strings.
What do you think of the sport of Kabaddi? It’s a variation of wrestling, tag, mixed with the elimination rules of dodgeball. There a league originated from South Asia called Pro Kabaddi league in India, which has grown to become #2 behind cricket. Can it enter the American market and be a success?
If the slap fighting league is as popular as Dana says (bigger than the NFL, NBA, NHL, WWE combined) why has is never had an actual live event? The sport is doing seemingly billions upon billions in social media surely they could sell out an arena? Every event so far has been prerecorded in a room the size of a hotel conference space. Does he really think people are buying this nonsense?
Hey Ariel and crew love the show keep up the great work. Been watching since the beginning.
questions for the whole crew.
why do you guys think Dana is so against 165 pound division?
I saw someone ask him about 165 division again the other day because of the UFC 303 Comain Catchweigh and his answer was "that wont happen while I'm around". To me it seems like there's only plus sides. Another belt! It wouldn't be like building a whole new division because you'd be building it from your current roster of well know fighters. The argument that it would water down the LW and WW is insane these division are stacked. Do you guys agree? Is their something im missing? can you guys think of any less obvious downsides to MMA as whole to creating this new division ?
Also if 165 was made, assuming 170 would then become 175, what would these division be called?
Would 165 become super lightweight?
Or maybe 165 would become welterweight and 175 would be super welterweight?
Hey Ariel love the show been watching from the beginning. Your the best keep up the great work.
The other day I saw a post I think it was Dan Ige calling out Ryan Garcia in the sphere.
And I commented saying "I don't know if he heard but he's suspended"
To which some people said no that just boxing. And when I read the article about Garcia being suspended it said specifically that he is suspended from "boxing" but MMA and boxing use the same athletic commissions so I said I don't think they would allow him to fight MMA while he suspended from boxing for banned substances. Some people were quick to disagree with me and say he would be allowed to fight MMA.
Was just wondering if you had any knowledge on this matter, would Ryan Garcia be allowed to fight in MMA right now while he suspended from boxing??
Hey Ariel fellow Canadian here. Just wanna say that It’s amazing how much Canadian pride you show. (Although u do talk in farenheit and say zee instead of zed) but it’s a given considering where u live. As a proud Canadian myself and with the olympics around the corner my question is if you could you remember where you were during canadas greatest Olympic moment “Sidney Crosbys golden goal” such an amazing moment for Canada that I they everyone remembers where they were. Cheers Ps it was a heartbreaker for Edmonton to lose to Florida and its 4 fans 😂😂
Requesting some fatherly advice! There’s this girl that I’ve been spending time with and might be developing feelings. I feel it’s mutual from some of our conversations but I’m not sure and don’t want to make the situation awkward by making any moves.
So question for the crew how should I go about advancing things? Should I send a long winded message or text? Should I throw caution to the wind and go for a cheeky kiss? Would love to hear your input, thank you for all the work you put in,
I always hear you mention the joy of being a dad; it is truly second to none. So, with baby number two on the way I look forward to the naming process. It is something I didn’t truly experience the first time around, as my first born son is the sixth (VI).
Curious to hear how you guys landed on your kids names and if it was a long, drawn out process or if it was seamless with not much over thinking put into it? It is a fun but tantalizing process… as I tend to not want to settle on a name, prolonging the enjoyment and continuing the search for “the perfect name”.
With the Olympics looming, I would love to know which events you and the crew are most excited to watch this year. There are certain sports that get me pumped when I flick on the tv and they’re on, with table tennis, archery and diving being my top 3.

Any interest in having Luke Thomas or Dave Meltzer on as a guest on MMA Hour? You guys always vibe pretty well together.
I always enjoyed the latent homosexual tension between Ariel and Luke.
lol same.

just look up the VOX media building in NYC
Ok, I did, but I don't see a video tour that includes entry into Ariel's studio leading to the MMA Hour desk. Can you send a link if you found that?
that feels like a saftey issue, normally the guests are commenting that the building is in a very nice part of manhattan

Hopefully it means no women's fights at all...

Hello Ariel
Just wondering if you ever plan to remove any of the fighter memorabilia that you have up in your set up to make way for future additions?
Thanks
Jake

My dog is named after my all time favourite fighter Dan Hardy!
How about naming him after a legendary fighter? can't go wrong with Dillon Danis Vaughan.
Good day to you and the guys.
Non-mma question here:
With the Olympics looming, I would love to know which events you and the crew are most excited to watch this year. There are certain sports that get me pumped when I flick on the tv and they’re on, with table tennis, archery and diving being my top 3.
What are yall’s?
