Is it just me, or has there been a significant drop in eye pokes since the UFC introduced those curved gloves? What other simple measures do you think the UFC could take to improve the fights?
I’ve watched the Joe Rogan Experience episode with Don Fry. Though he’s an interesting character, he’s also clearly delusional: at some point, Frye and Rogan started to talk about cell regeneration through I forgot what supposedly miracle new scientific treatments, and Frye seriously said something about using it to rejuvenate his body, which could maybe allow him to do super fights. So having him on Ariel’s show to say nonsensical things, I don’t know.
You’ve been pushing for the McGregor/Chandler fight to take place at UFC 300. Would that mean there wouldn’t be any title fights for the major ppv? Or can you see Dana White having a title fight co-headline under Conor?
P.s. Not sure if done on purpose but I found it hilarious that you used a “hand and glove” to describe how well Mike Perry has fit into “bare knuckle” fighting
I feel like the Aspinall situation is perfect for this dilemma. They could make him defend the interim, so the card has a belt on the line without breaking precedent. As much as I’d hate, maybe we’d also see the BMF defended.
Hola Ariel! Lately i enjoy asking people about topics that i’ve never heard them discuss before to find out what else they might like. If you’re up for a random/different question, what are your and the teams’ thoughts on the following:
Jake Shield has long been a name I am familiar with as a UFC fan. I even remember him fighting for the title against GSP. Fast forward 10+ years, the Twitter algorithm is pushing him to my timeline daily, and as you probably know, not in a positive way.
Do you know when he became such a horrible human being, or was he always that stupid?
A follow-up question - how difficult is it for you, if any, to interview these kinds of antisemitic people?
Moreover, I always believed Ali boycotting you was not because of your ethics as a journalist, but rather because of your religion. Am I crazy?
As mentioned before, keep doing what you've done best for so many years. Thank you for keeping me sane in this crazy world we live in. Shoutout to the entire crew! Peace.
Ariel and Frank! How are you? Question. What is worse in your opinion? The coward journalist at the ufc not having the gull to ask Dana about the pending lawsuit at the latest post fight presser. Or Man U banning certain journalists from attending press conferences. I appreciate you guys and all you do!
Should there be some sort of arbitrary standard where the ref is required to stop the fight to prevent what happened to Bobby Green this weekend? Like a max number of unanswered shots after a knockdown?
Qubo Ariel from Miami. On the NYC live show the idea of Action Bronson walking Chito out came up. This weekend David Goggins and Jack Black made the walk with their fighters. Dana said he didn’t mind that kind of thing in his post fight press conference, as long as they didn’t sing. So A) Do you suspect Action makes the walk in Miami, and B) Which “non trainer” would you like to see make the walk most with a fighter?
Ariel - during Covid Dana White tried to host an event on a Native American reservation, that ultimately got scrapped by Disney. He promised he would bring an event there in the future as a thank you. Almost four years later, haven't heard anything on this front. do you know anything about progress here?
Hello Ariel, recently Dana spoke about the reasons the UFC won’t sign Dillon Danis, to paraphrase he basically said he comes with too much drama. What are your thoughts on this? For me it’s hard to understand why Dana has now taken this stance when he’s usually the one pushing how “it’s a fight game” “mean things get said, tough shit” etc etc. And when you consider their willingness to put a belt on Colby, Strickland & make fights like DDP/Izzy and other fights that cross all sorts or boundaries, why’s Danis so untouchable when he’d be soo good for business. For what it’s worth, I personally think Danis would be easier to tame/control than the likes of Strickland Diaz & Colby. Thoughts? Much love, your boy Abay ✌🏾
Hello Ariel, the question of what a super fight is seems very subjective and while I personally dont have a definition, I wonder if the UFC would either consider non-title PPV main event worthy fights OR a 5 round chief support fight as a ‘super fight’ e.g Diaz v Edwards ? On that note, which of the following do you think could be the one Dana wants to make m? Likewise, which if any would u consider “super” enough? (And just for fun, could you seperate super fight/not a super fight like you do with perks on my fave ad read, cash app).
Hi everyone,
Is it just me, or has there been a significant drop in eye pokes since the UFC introduced those curved gloves? What other simple measures do you think the UFC could take to improve the fights?
Your fan from Norway,

Hallo Ariel and Crew
I won’t stop till Don Frye is on the show !
Greetings from Germany my man
can I ask why?
Because he is the main Man, and I would love to hear from him. We need to highlight these legends more.

What’s up Ariel and team.

Thanks, crew, for making every show awesome

Shalom Ariel!
It's your friend Eran from Israel.

Aloha Ariel,
You've covered the sport for so long. It's crazy to see how far it's come. From condom depot and tachi palace to fox and espn.
Reflecting on the early days, what's the most bush league, Mickey Mouse, cockamamie, thing you've seen?
Mahalo,
Hamzako
Hi Ariel! Did you see the GSP vs Nick Diaz 2 rumours for UFC 300 and do you know if its true that this is the super fight dana mentioned?
Should there be some sort of arbitrary standard where the ref is required to stop the fight to prevent what happened to Bobby Green this weekend? Like a max number of unanswered shots after a knockdown?
Quick one today, why doesn’t the UFC come to Chicago???
Its a liberal city and daddy dana dont like that.

Are the paid substack subs not an option anymore?

Ariel & Crew,
first off, a happy birthday shoutout would be nice. Now to my question
did you, Ariel, reach out to Kevin Iole personally after he was laid off by Yahoo Sports?
