Hello Ariel, I don’t know if you ever heard of this before buddy, but Luke Thomas has guys on his show named BC and Long Island Luke… is this a shot at GC & New York Ric? Is he being mean to you? Not sure but if it is not cool… I might have to teach him a lesson #SpankingForLuke
This question is for everyone, I was wondering what your guys' opinions are on fans booing UFC fighters normally the second clinching or grappling is initiated? I personally think it is the most disrespectful and disgraceful thing to do to these fighters that have been training nearly their entire lives, have worked tirelessly and have made many sacrifices to get to where they are, and are the mostly highly skilled athletes in their sport. Not every time, but most of the time they are trying to set something up. I think it is embarrassing and should be criticized more by MMA media, the UFC, and true MMA fans. Sorry, but when I hear the booing I get so embarrassed and feel horrible for the fighters.
When Rick said Bo Nickal can win any fight just by using his wrestling, was that before or after he forgot MMA isn’t NCAA Nationals? Or was that just another classic 'confidently wrong' moment on the show by Ricky boy?
I love this comment, but I gotta defend Ric here. Bo COULD have won that fight if he just wrestled and quit trying to be “well rounded.” You gotta dance with the girl that brought you so to speak.
I see your point. My counter would be the opportunity to out wrestle RDR never presented himself because I believe the translation to MMA for “American Wreslting” simply isn’t there anymore. Aljo and Merab out wrestling an Olympic Gold medalist. Colby and Kamaru getting tossed around by Leon. Just some examples
Just curious—when a guy with five pro fights makes the main card of UFC 300 and gets the full promotional push, is that still ‘not a big deal,’ or is the UFC just doing charity work now?
Will we get the international fight week main event announced during the 315 broadcast? Or are we actually waiting too see the result before booking Islam? How likely is it that the fight is NOT booked as of yet, with UFC 317 being a mere 7 weeks after this Saturday’s event?
P.S. please ask Frank (the cultured one) for help pronouncing my name since its pronunciation trips you up every time.
If you were in the crowd of 100 men facing the dread silverback, are you a “gas him out” guy, and attempt to run laps around him to deplete his cardio? Or a “let’s bum rush this sumbitch and go down in a blaze of glory” guy?
We’ve seen you on the aviron, we know those legs can churn. But your pack and a half a day may really inhibit your cardio these days.
NY Ric - Thoughts on the Cavs/Pacers series so far? I got my tickets to game 3 & 4! Looking for that SWEEP! Anyone on the crew going to the Knicks game 3 or 4? Thank you love the show. Go Pacers!
No question here but with regards to this past weekend's Rizin event I was actually in attendance. While I didn't see the opening ceremony, I actually met Jiri and Mark Coleman at the event. Both were super nice. Willing to provide photographic evidence to GC or NYRIc if needed. Overall it was a very long show, 19 fights total, and I was there for 16 of them for a total of about 7 plus hrs. While the fights themselves were mostly ho hum (Big wins for Danny Sabatello and Kai Asakura's brother Mikuru) and the skill level is not near the UFC, the energy, the atmosphere, the pageantry, the entrances, the boxing ring, and the overall vibe is miles above the UFC in my opinion. Highly highly recommend anyone go to a Rizin event if they are in Japan or honestly even just to watch online for 20 dollars in the states. Also the food at the tokyo dome was very very solid and extremely reasonably priced compared to US venues.
Been a fan for a very long time. Think you’re the best that sports media has to offer. However something has bothered me enough to create a substack just to participate here. It’s not exclusive to you, but I see virtually all of media making comments that Ryan Garcia’s latest performance raises questions about the positive tests in the Haney fight. That ignores two things. One being the science around how much Osterine it would take to make that much difference and most importantly it ignores that Ryan himself gave the most reasonable explanation in the ring. He said something like “I think last year took a lot out of my body”. The kid was on a year long manic bender and it’s unreasonable to think this short period of being straight has made up for all the damage he’d done to himself. I think Ryan should be praised and admired for turning it around. I’m so proud of him. The fact that he made it to another high profile fight healthy is a win. He can stay on the right path and build. I didn’t know if we would ever see him lucid again. I’m proud of Ryan, and I hope he has enough people around him to encourage him because life is bigger than boxing.
Ariel, did Killashaw work himself into a shoot, brother?
Also, I’d like to raise my banners for House Harrison alongside House Carrol in the Battle of Bantamweights in Newark. Still salty at the boys in the back for rebranding to Parlay Boys from Parlay Pals because Julianna didn’t watch the show and lacked knowledge.

BC was BC before GC started watching MMA.
You are not wrong Mr Rat
Can't believe I never made this connection

It’s tough.

Who would win in a match between Eddie Hall and 50 Roxanne Modafferri’s?

PT- Shavkat
Conner- Tom Aspinall
Ariel- Merab
Ric- Pereira
