What was your reaction to the UFC releasing ranked heavyweights Rodrigo Nascimento and Alexander Romanov, the latter of which just came off of a win? I have heard other MMA fans mention that the UFC is doing a purge of the "most out of shape" heavyweights, which I don't think is an accurate statement. But just wanted your guys opinion on why the UFC would be removing young heavyweight prospects in a division that seems like it needs as many fighters coming up through the ranks as possible given Tom has fought a lot of the top ranked guys so far and Jones/Miocic may retire after this weekend? Y'all are the best, thanks!
Ariel - Does Tom's Interim Belt go away when the Jon x Stipe fight starts? If astipe does pull off a W, do you see the UFC doing an immediate rematch? Thanks love the show. Shout to NY Ric and his Cavs, still Undefeated. Thanks again.
Jones vs Aspinal. In hindsight do you guys think Jones should have just vacated the title after Gane? I think the only reason people are having issues with his “legacy fights” talking point is due to him preventing Aspinal from starting his own legacy as the undisputed champ. If Jones vacated, he could fight stipe, perreira, and whoever else without people getting upset. Then if he decided to fight Aspinal, there would be even more hype for the fight. Would love y’all’s thoughts on this. Thank you!
At about 1:02:05 in Monday's episode a person can be seen in the top left window of the apartment building behind you closing the blinds.
My question is, what will you do if the people who live behind you catch on that their apartment windows are famous and prime real estate on the most popular show in combat sports? I can see them trolling, waving, or holding up signs. How haven't any of their friends told them? Do you think they know??
Ariel boys in the back and the beast of blanch what’s the story with the future of 205? Alex p has had a hell of a run but father time is undefeated! so how do u boys see the division playing out post poatan
Let’s say Jones wins on Saturday, if the UFC attempts to make Jones v Aspinall next and Jones asks for “Deontay Wilder money”, does Dana/UFC give him it after the past 18 months of worshipping him as the sport’s GOAT or do we go back to the “Jones is scared” narrative that Dana/UFC created after Ngannou knocked out Stipe?
1. Have you seen the recent Nick Diaz video of him trying to ignite something while being shirtless on a street? If so is that really Nick? What are your thoughts about that specially with his fight upcoming? It seems very worrying..
2. I feel like you used to talk about wrestling more than you do now even though this is your show and not the MMAhour, what's changed my man?
First of all i want to say that the extra content is definitly not too much for me, the only thing it did was erasing the need for other podcasts out of my life!
I have been asking this question for a long time, but i won't stop until i get my anwser.
What do you and the crew consider the 5 best regional promotions in any order? And have you heard about the relatively new Levels Fighting League? They have been making waves lately, and 5 of their champions were on the last DWCS.
Thumbs up to the chat!
p.s english is my third language so please excuse some mistakes!
Unified MMA is a great regional promotion in Canada. Dana was there in Toronto on the last episode of Looking For a Fight and said it was one of the best smaller promotions he's ever attended.
Yo Ariel and crew! This question is just for Ric for absolutely no reason.
Ric, would you rather spend every weekday of your life handcuffed to an 8-foot tall plumber or a regular-sized plumber who only ever screams when he speaks? It has to be one of these. Thanks in advance for taking this seriously.
This question is for all the boys. Which personality type do you find more interesting from a fans perspective? The overly confident type (Ilia, Conor, Chael, etc..) or the underdog (Dustin, DC, GSP, etc..)
I'm not gonna lie, my appetite for MMA lately has been waning. I still watch all the PPVs, but I can't sit through these 5-hr long fight nights anymore, apex or no apex. Sure, the fighting is high-level, technical, and there's plenty of incredible finishes and moments - but I guess feel like the storytelling that brought me into the sport isn't as compelling anymore. Perhaps it's the sheer number of events, the focus on Contender Series, or something else?
Obviously there's great stories surrounding the sport's biggest stars, but outside of a select few of those fighters - I've been a bit bored with the product. Have you heard this from anybody else or am I the only one you know that feels this way?
Good day ariel and crew, i feel Jon Jones title reign (if he beats stipe) will be looked at as illegitimate if he doesn't fight Tom Aspinall, who is the rightful and most respectable contender he can fight given the fact the only two people Jon would have fought at HW would be Gane who lost to Francis and didn't genuinely prove himself as the right man to fight Jon and it showed in the fight, AND a Stipe that got brutally knocked out by Francis and hasn't fought for 3 and a half years in between. If he doesn't fight Tom to me it wouldn't feel like he's ducking, it would just feel like his wins against Gane and Stipe weren't as high level or "legacy making" as it would be if he were to have beaten tom. thoughts? (ps super glad u announced a small wrestling pod coming soon in the future regardless of how big it gets i'll be there every week tuned in, SALUTE!)
Hello Ariel and the rest of the amazing crew!

Thank God DC is retired
Probability of Jake Paul v KSI happening by end of 2025?

Hello Ariel and the Gang,

How does the UFC look like without Dana White as CEO/president? Do you expect them to do cross promotion events post Dana era?
Why would the UFC ever do cross promotion events, regardless of who's president. It's simply not in their best interests.
Any updates on the following:
- Nick Diaz concerns
- Zuffa boxing
- Schaub vs Diaz

Hey Ariel and the crew! Two questions for ya,
Thanks for all that you and the boys do,
Much love, Adell from Canada
Sup Ariel,
We all know Aiemann and Guram are you and GC's spirit fighters. My question is, who is Ric, Petesy and Frank's spirit fighter?

Congratulations on the new show!
