The oldest fighter to win the welterweight title is Tyron Woodley, at 34 years of age.
Looking at the current top welterweight contenders,
Usman turns 36 this year.
Colby is 35.
Khamzat is not in the division.
Belal turns 35 this year.
Burns turns 37 this year.
Masvidal turns 39 this year.
If any of these fighters manage to win the title, they essentially will be making history. Do you see it happening or are they just too old for the younger crop of welterweights?
I’ll keep it simple. What is going on with UFC judging? It’s been really bad lately and it feels as though there is no path to a solution being even looked at. It’s something that has basically ruined boxing as a sport and I don’t want to see the UFC/MMA going down the same road. In your mind how do we fix this situation?
Hello Ariel and crew, my question is: If you had to choose between slap-fighting Nate Diaz, boxing Poirier for 8 rounds or Kickbox Pereira for 2 rounds, what would you choose and why not the other ones? Pls discuss amongst the team😁
Many MMA fighters have publicly endorsed controversial conservative political leaders and candidates. In your opinion, are MMA fighters on average more conservative than other athletes or entertainers? Or is it because MMA is a “safe place” to express your true political views?
HELLO, HELLO! If you could book the perfect UFC 300 PPV right now with 3 plausible title fights and 2 more main card fights, who do you book? 300 should fall in March or April of next year depending on whether they do another double PPV month before then.
For me, in a perfect world Conor has beaten Chandler later this year and is set to fight for the 170 strap vs Leon. And Cejudo has beaten Aljo and O'Malley between now and then and is facing Volk for the 145 strap. Can you imagine Conor and Cejudo both going for a 3rd title at 300!? Question is, would Conor let if fly since Cejudo's fight would obviously come first.
Love the show(s) Helwani, I appreciate the content. Question: Chandler x McGregor - Would Chandler make PPV points on this? Who ultimately wins between Conor x USADA? My understanding is he is still not testing as of today. I would ask Dana but he apparently wants "Nothing to do with that" and doesn't give a F**k. How does this play out? Thanks
Gday from Newcastle, Australia, Ariel. I have a two parter to ask you.
Firstly, do you think that the UFC is looking to have a massive year with events this year, to try and increase their value heading into the upcoming broadcasting rights deal soon to run out later this year? Already this year we’ve seen Islam v Volk, Jones returning after being very vocal about wanting boxing heavyweight champ money, McGregor returning and even joining TUF? Where last year we were treated to Peña v Nunes. Colby returning and getting an underserved title shot, and both London and Australia getting events. Dana has even said that he wants to move away from the Apex, which only benefits the fans/viewers NOT the UFC, unless they’re looking to show the next buyer how many eyes they can get on their events. If this is the case, what do you expect to see next? Khamzat title shot? Poirier v Diaz? Stipe v Jones seems to be pretty well locked in so that will be huge.
Also, what needs to be done to get these MMA media guys to start putting heat on Dana at these scripted press conferences? Dana coming out and big talking Colby to a silent crowd who didn’t once challenge his terrible reasoning was just sad to see. Other sports are scared heading into this press events because the media asks the questions they don’t want to answer, but once again the UFC has control over what they have to talk about. Frustrating. Thanks mate
Hi Ariel, while traveling for work last week I got super lucky and was able to see the northern lights one evening. Pretty cool to scratch something off the bucket list without even planning it.
What are three things on your bucket list that you really hope to do, see, or experience before you move on to your post-life journey?
Hey Ariel ! Fellow Canadian here!! Big time fan always listening first time asking a question!
Wondering your thoughts on now that Leon has the belt if you think Nate diaz would / could be lured to come back to try to get the belt. Leon won the first fight but got plagued by the diaz effect with those last couple moments so there is a story line there. Diaz is always a big draw for the UFC. Not to mention we have not seen him make any moves outside the UFC yet.
Thanks as always for always providing top notch content !
Would like to know, what is your favorite post-fight in cage interview? Im stuck between Rose winning back her belt (I’m the best!) and Leon Edwards winning the title over Usman. Both get me choked up. Whats your favorite?
Yo Ariel, please. I'm begging. It's too much. Just please show up to a ufc presser unannounced and just fart on these Dana White yes men who just roll over, no matter how stupud his retort is to an easy to identify question that goes against his frame of mind. Please. For me..
Hello MMA Hour! Question for the whole team here. I couldn't help but notice when uncle Chael blessed you with an in studio appearance, one of the first things he brought up was that he was not offered a cup of coffee. Then a few weeks ago GC brought up Conor McGregor had to ask for a cup of coffee. My question is who is in charge of hospitality for your guest during in studio appearances? Who is there to accommodate for there needs? I can not believe these mega stars that come onto your program with no financial compensation are treated with this kind of respect. Somebody in the back needs to be held accountable.
Hello! Are you disappointed with the Holly Holm situation? I believe her easiest path to a championship would be at featherweight (at 145, to become #1 contender all you have to do is raise your hand and weigh 145 pounds), but she says she's determined to become bantamweight champion again. On Saturday she won her fight dominantly. In her post fight octagon interview, she was asked who she wanted to fight next. Her answer was that she didn't care but she was ready for anyone. Wouldn't the correct answer have been to say "Juliana Pena", then drop the mic and leave the octagon? If she doesn't care who she fights next, why would anyone else? The clock is ticking, she really wasted an opportunity to start a buzz. With her name value and following, I don't think it would be out of the question to get a fight with Pena for the #1 contender spot.

Gotta add Jim Miller. At least on the prelims
I like it. Throw in Ben Askren vs Robbie Lawler 2 just for fun. The rematch every fan wants to see.
Hallo Ariel
Short one this week, what’s next for Bobby Knuckles ?
Greetings from Germany my man

Hello Ariel!
I have to know who, or what, makes that "doop doop doop" noise when the name selector for the parlay pals is choosing the order?
Thanks! All the best to the team 👋

I may roll this one over to the next Luciana x Ariel Taco. Please tell me if you’d rather it be a MMA Hour q.
You’re the moderator brotha, I trust your moderating 🤙
