We’ve got another UFC vs. Bellator evening on tap. I think it’s pretty safe to say the top of the Bellator card, which features the semi-finals of their light heavyweight tournament, is most intriguing, but there are some interesting bouts and names sprinkled here and there throughout the two cards.
I’m most looking forward to Ryan Bader vs. Corey Anderson and Vadim Nemkov vs. Julius Anglickas.
Am I the only one who thinks Bellator should exclusively have their cards focused around either a Grand Prix or title fight? I feel like it’s hard to go from a great card like this to Tim Johnson vs. Fedor in a span of a week. If all Bellator cards had someone in their prime like Pitbull, Nemkov, Pettis, or McKee each card would be must watch. Having these half assed cards of older fighters and bad match making really dilutes the overall product and momentum imo.
I feel like Coker has really been out of his element since the pandemic. Product had already hit a low plateau but this Fedor vs Johnson is bad match making and promotional business imo. Unless they are getting alot for going to Russia
Thompson doesn't get that it's not about him, ppl are there to watch the fights not here him say "when I fought" non stop. Feel like they took him off calling fights cause he didn't focus on the action in the cage
Ariel, I am ashamed to report, that I will open the fighter and the kid podcast on youtube, just to see if they continue the feud...Otherwise I would have never even clicked on any of their videos!!!
They asked Punky Brewster what he thought the main card fight of the night would be and he started talking about a prelim fight that just happened. Not the Bess brains for the art
I am watching 2 things at once but did they just say one of these fighters in Bellator has his teeth taken out before the fight and put back in after? Or am I hearing things
I’m confused by this. It’s a tournament style set up he didn’t get to choose his opponent. And let’s not forget Bader has only lost once since moving to Bellator. Definitely not a walk in the park for Corey
Ladd goes from being removed from the card two weeks ago, into the main event against the number one contender at 145 pounds. Realistically a win over Dumont could jump her into a title shot at 145. Nothing at 135 stands out after the Pena bout right now imo.
Tough one indeed. Thing is, if Miller gets two more wins, he is the all-time wins leader in the UFC. Of course pending Cerrone doesn't win. Not winning the belt hurts, but he kind of compares to accumulators that got into another sports HOF imo.
You gotta look at who those wins are against and how far apart they are. Dude just has shown up for work the longest idk if that’s hall of fame worthy imo
Dominant round and finish, Nemkov defends his title
In the last 15 years the StrikeForce Heavyweight Grand Prix has gotta be the best American MMA tournament right?
There were some good ones in the Pride days
That's why I said American MMA tournament, cause Pride Grand Prix with Gracie and Sakuraba is the best damn it lol
The first time I saw the pride tournaments were about a year ago and I couldn’t believe i had gone my whole life without ever watching them before
I see
I think Anderson beats Nemkov. What a fun fight that will be. Remember, Anderson has wins over Blachowicz and Teixeira.
Didn’t Jan just starch him before he got cut from the roster?
Yea Jans loss to him is from 2015 and he proceeded to knock him out, viciously dare I say in the first round.
like last year
Jon jones was there with all the chains on in the front row
Think it depends if Nemkov can survive Anderson's initial storm. If he can drag it out late he has a chance with his wrestling.
Nemkov absolutely dominant on the ground tonight
He bullied Bader also, he's a tough S.o.b.
Armbars are such a bad idea in MMA
From top position, I would mainly agree bubba
Nemkov seems to have a proper game plan
Find you someone who loves you as much as Big John and Josh Thompson love talking about speed advantages
*cuts to Mickey from Rocky screaming "SPEED"
Anglickas should have chased the finish a little more there but instead gets taken down
They really just compared this to Rocky vs Apollo Creed
Are they going to have fans in Russia anyone know? Not sure how the restrictions are there
Are you kidding, it's Russia, there will probably be a 4,000 person medieval sword fight taking place in the stands
LMAO good point
😂
Eye poke stoppage would be the most Bellator thing ever rn
Fighters with custom fight shorts and white gloves looks so much cooler than the venum fight kit
I wonder how much UFC hurt the market for fighters when they did the Reebok deal
A lot. Imagine losing one of your main opportunities for sponsorships as a fighter while meanwhile having to wear a crypto shirt for free

Might be weird for them trying to do the Fedor fight in Russia and also get other fighters over there for a big card.
Great point
Big John is not good on the mic
Thompson doesn't get that it's not about him, ppl are there to watch the fights not here him say "when I fought" non stop. Feel like they took him off calling fights cause he didn't focus on the action in the cage
Respect for what he’s done for MMA but I’ve always thought this too. Doesn’t have the Polish or charisma that guys like Felder and Bisping have.
He just comes off as being irritated or pissed off alot of the time lol
The last Heelwani drone strike has everyone shook. He's in their heads BaPa
Ariel in his head
He’s awful
Thomson is bad too. Stumbling over his words nonstop.
That was savage. Bader looks pretty shopworn rn.
Called tht one
Wow. Father time catching up
Yea but give Corey his credit too
Ariel, I am ashamed to report, that I will open the fighter and the kid podcast on youtube, just to see if they continue the feud...Otherwise I would have never even clicked on any of their videos!!!
Reading through the comments it sounds like I didn’t miss much skipping the fight night 😂
Hope we have to good ones coming up in Bellator
Bader damn auto correct 🤦
I have no clue what to expect with Vader vs Anderson year and a half ago Vader would have been a huge favorite
I think Heelwani is in Punky Brewsters head, been tweeting about him 3 days straight and he can't tawlk tonight
I feel like Primus might have had a shot vs Islam Mamedov if it had been 5 rounds
Thanks as usual Ariel for hosting these fight chats
29-28 Primus, 30-27 wouldn't surprise me either
I really don’t like these commentators
Punky Brewster is honestly horrible. You would think Big Jim would be better but he's still green
Bendo controlled the first half of second round, Primus had back control the whole second half. Close round
Bendo looking good halfway through 2nd round
Gave Primus first round, he can get to comfortable on his back, it cost him his last fight
I do not like the bellator gloves
Primus has great rubber guard game and has done alot for a couple of my friends in Portland, hope he gets the W
I think he snuffs henderson
They asked Punky Brewster what he thought the main card fight of the night would be and he started talking about a prelim fight that just happened. Not the Bess brains for the art
Josh Thomson is hard to listen to.
I am watching 2 things at once but did they just say one of these fighters in Bellator has his teeth taken out before the fight and put back in after? Or am I hearing things
There is no way Bellator is worse than that at least that will save the night!
Bellator always finds a way, but I'm still hoping.
Corey Anderson wants the easiest fight in the division.
I’m confused by this. It’s a tournament style set up he didn’t get to choose his opponent. And let’s not forget Bader has only lost once since moving to Bellator. Definitely not a walk in the park for Corey
I was just kidding- but I couldn't help but laugh thinking back to DC's promos on these guys.
Haha my bad. Flew over my head, I must of missed that DC promo.
Haha Chris Lee scored a 48-47
PPVs have been great. FNs not so much.
truth be told, the last few fight night lineups have been bad.
Too much APEX. You said it and it’s true
Last three main events have been tough too.
too many cards = watered down product. that was bad.
To be fair I think we see a more entertaining fight if Holly Holm didn’t have pull out
Real bad
Who has the bigger talent gap in their respective division, Shevchenko at flyweight or Nunes at featherweight?
RIP I misunderstood your question, I would go with Nunes at featherweight. The division itself is pretty small
Ladd stuck in *pick your character* mode for 3 rounds
I’m glad Ladd’s corner is being brutally honest with her after two rounds
For sure you hate it when the corner sugar coats it!
I think they both were watching Walker vs Santos from 2 weeks ago
Ladd goes from being removed from the card two weeks ago, into the main event against the number one contender at 145 pounds. Realistically a win over Dumont could jump her into a title shot at 145. Nothing at 135 stands out after the Pena bout right now imo.
Do you think Ladd's cardio will be a factor given the round change?
Seems like she is pacing herself. I assume she has a gameplan here, given she's yet to shoot in for a takedown.
Who has the worse tattoo? Alan Belcher or Felipe?
Belcher 100% art wise. Felipe has a small face tat but Belcher just has a horribly done Johnny Cash hahaha
How's taste?!?!
Just curious, how long is something considered “new”?
I would say a year
It’s funny that UFC never shows Jan beat Adesanya in their fight promotion vids. There’s no talk of it anymore as if it never happened!
put on a clinic tht night imo to out strike and dominate on the ground against the champ that is adesanya i couldn’t believe it
would you put Jim Miller in the UFC hall of fame?
nah
Absolutely
tough one
Tough one indeed. Thing is, if Miller gets two more wins, he is the all-time wins leader in the UFC. Of course pending Cerrone doesn't win. Not winning the belt hurts, but he kind of compares to accumulators that got into another sports HOF imo.

Wow! What a night for Miller. Most fights all-time in the UFC and a KO victory!
Woooww good for Jim Miller. Love to see it
